What this course covers
You learn how to take charge of an emergency and treat someone who is hurt or unwell until medical help arrives.
It suits workplace first aiders, teachers and carers, people working in trades, hospitality, fitness or retail, and members of the public.
Your Statement of Attainment covers three nationally recognised units — HLTAID011 (first aid), HLTAID010 (basic emergency life support) and HLTAID009 (CPR) — all from this one course.

Before you book
A quick language check is part of enrolment. You'll need enough English to read, write and understand the course. After enrolling, you'll complete a short language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) check in your student account. You need to pass it to do the course. Not sure? Try a practice check first. What you'll need
A USI. A Unique Student Identifier.
Photo ID. A valid photo ID — uploaded in your student account before the online part, and shown when you arrive on the day for the in person class.
A short online module. You work through it before your class. It takes 1–3 hours.
Two minutes of CPR. You also need to be physically able to do 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin on the floor.

Your Statement of Attainment is the document you carry. First aid has no licence or card attached to it, in any state.
How you'll train
In person
Before you come in, you complete a short online module — about 1 to 3 hours. You train in a classroom with a trainer. The session runs 6 hours including breaks, and you complete your assessment in class.

There is no customer parking at the training venue. Paid public parking is available nearby at Nationwide Parking on Queens Road and at Wilson Parking's Gateway Car Park on St Kilda Road. Limited paid and time-restricted street parking may also be available. Always check the signs. Parking availability, hours and fees can change, so check the operator's website before travelling.
Finding the entrance
Enter through the main Bowen Crescent building entrance and go to Level 1. Suite 1.05 has Edway signage.

Look for Unit 2. The exterior is clearly Edway-branded. Training Aid branding appears inside the venue.
What happens after you enrol
- 1Check your emailYour confirmation email shows your venue, date and time. It comes from no_reply@trainingaid.com.au. It usually arrives within a few minutes of enrolling.
- 2Set up your student accountLog in with the details in your confirmation email and set up your account.
- 3Have your USI readyA Unique Student Identifier is required for this course. Get or find yours at usi.gov.au.
- 4Upload your photo IDUpload a valid photo ID in your student account. It's required for all nationally recognised training and confirms your identity for your certificate.
- 5Complete a short LLND checkIn your student account you complete a short language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) check. You'll need enough English to take part and to pass it.
- 6We confirm your enrolmentOnce you've finished the LLND check, we confirm your enrolment by email. If there's a problem with your eligibility, we'll contact you directly before you start.
- 7Finish the online moduleWork through the short online module before your class. It takes 1–3 hours.
- 8On the dayBring one valid photo ID and arrive 15 minutes early. Your ID is checked when you arrive, and you complete your assessment in class.

- 1No application neededOnce your class finishes, your part is done — there is no application to lodge and no regulator to register with.
- 2Your record is emailed to youYour nationally recognised Statement of Attainment — covering HLTAID011, HLTAID010 and HLTAID009 — is emailed to you when you finish, and it's always in your student account to download.
- 3How long it lastsYour Statement of Attainment does not expire. First aid units (HLTAID011 & HLTAID010) are refreshed every 3 years; CPR (HLTAID009) every 12 months.
