Asbestos Awareness (Online) — National / online
Know what asbestos looks like before you disturb it — and what to do when you find it. For plumbers, labourers and tradespeople.
Issued by Edway Training (RTO 91401)

What this course covers
This course teaches you to recognise materials that contain asbestos on a job, and to understand the health risks of disturbing them. It is for plumbers, labourers, tradespeople and anyone who might come across asbestos at work.
You finish with a Certificate of Completion — a record of what you learned, not permission to remove asbestos. To do removal work you need the accredited Remove Non-Friable (Class B) or Remove Friable (Class A) course.
Employers set their own requirements, so check with yours that this is the course they want.
- What you'll learn
- Where asbestos is usually found, and what it was used for
- The health effects of asbestos, and the diseases exposure causes
- How to avoid exposure at work
- The laws and workplace procedures that apply, including asbestos management plans
- The protective equipment to use, and how to decontaminate
- How removal and disposal are done safely — at an awareness level, not training to do the work
