Excavator Training — NSW
Conduct civil construction excavator operationsRIIMPO320F · Statement of AttainmentHands-on excavator training for new plant operators and trades adding plant skills — you need a current White Card to get on site for the practical day.
Issued by Edway Training (RTO 91401)

What this course covers
You learn to operate an excavator of any tonnage on civil construction sites. Day 1 is classroom theory. Day 2 is a full practical day on a real machine, working through exercises with a trainer.
Earthmoving machinery has not needed a high-risk-work licence anywhere in Australia since 2012. Instead, the business you work for has to make sure every operator is competent, and a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment is the formal evidence of that.
It suits anyone getting into plant work — new operators, labourers and trades adding plant skills, and workers whose site wants formal evidence they can run the machine.
- What you'll learn
- Plan and prepare for safe excavator operations
- Work through the machine pre-operational checklist and safety procedures
- Operate the excavator safely — lifting, carrying and placing materials
- Load trucks
- Select and change attachments
- Carry out operator maintenance and clean up the work area
- Apply the work health and safety rules and spot hazards on site
- Run the machine hands-on in real work situations, with a trainer alongside
