Every workplace has to have an emergency plan, and has to train its people on what to do. This course makes you one of the people who can use an extinguisher on a small fire before it spreads.

How you'll train
In person
You attend a classroom session with a trainer, mixing slides and video with hands-on practical activities. You complete your assessment in the same session.

What happens after you book
- 1Check your emailYour confirmation email shows your venue, date and time. It comes from no_reply@trainingaid.com.au. It usually arrives within a few minutes of booking.
- 2Set up your student accountLog in with the details in your confirmation email and set up your account.
- 3Have your USI readyA Unique Student Identifier is required for this course. Get or find yours at usi.gov.au.
- 4Complete a short LLND checkIn your student account you complete a short language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) check. You'll need enough English to take part and to pass it.
- 5We confirm your enrolmentOnce you've finished the LLND check, we confirm your enrolment by email. If there's a problem with your eligibility, we'll contact you directly before you start.
- 6On the dayBring one valid photo ID and arrive 15 minutes early. You can't join the class if you're more than 15 minutes late. Your ID is checked when you arrive, and it has to be sighted before your Statement of Attainment can be issued.

Questions, answered
Do I need any experience or training before I start?
No experience needed. There is nothing to study beforehand either. You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) and one valid photo ID, and you complete a short language, literacy, numeracy and digital check after booking.
How long does the course take?
4 hours, in one session. The practical activities and the assessment both run inside that time, so there is nothing to finish afterwards.
Will my Statement of Attainment be recognised in other states?
Yes. PUAFER008 is a nationally recognised unit, and the Statement of Attainment is accepted in every state and territory. No state adds its own licence, card or approval scheme on top of it.
How long does my Statement of Attainment last?
It does not expire. The Australian standard for emergency planning recommends refreshing these skills at least every 6 months — that is industry practice, not law.
What do I need to bring on the day?

Can I book if I can't see any dates?
Yes. Where no dates are scheduled, the booking page takes an enquiry instead. Send it and Training Aid Australia (RTO 91411) will come back to you about dates.

Yes. A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required for every nationally recognised course in Australia, including this one. You can create one for free at usi.gov.au, and you add it to your student account after booking.
Who issues my certificate — Edway or Training Aid Australia?
Training Aid Australia (RTO 91411) delivers this course and issues your Statement of Attainment. Edway lists the course; Training Aid Australia is the registered training organisation behind it, on every offering of this course.
