What this course covers
You learn how to work safely on a construction site: spotting hazards, controlling risks and following safe work practices.
It is the foundation work health and safety unit for construction, written for workers, trainers and owner-builders.
You learn the WHS unit itself, not construction induction. This course does not give you a White Card. If you need one to get on site, book the White Card course.

Before you book
A quick language check is part of enrolment. You'll need enough English to read, write and understand the course. After booking, you'll complete a short language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) check in your student account. You need to pass it to do the course. Not sure? Try a practice check first. Why do this course?
This unit is the one that opens other doors — it's the competency White Card trainers and assessors have to hold, the mandatory pre-study for the New South Wales demolition course, and one of the five units in the owner-builder cluster.

Your Statement of Attainment for CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry is nationally recognised, so it is accepted in every state and territory.
Your Statement of Attainment is the document you carry. Construction WHS training has no licence or card attached to it, in any state.
How you'll train
Online, self-paced
Work through the course online, in your own time. There are no set dates — you start as soon as you enrol, and you have 2 months to finish.
What happens after you book
- 1Check your emailYour confirmation email shows your student account login. It comes from no-reply@edway.edu.au. It usually arrives within a few minutes of booking.
- 2Set up your student accountLog in with the details in your confirmation email and set up your account.
- 3Have your USI readyA Unique Student Identifier is required for this course. Get or find yours at usi.gov.au.
- 4Upload your photo IDUpload a valid photo ID in your student account. It's required for all nationally recognised training and confirms your identity for your certificate.
- 5Complete a short LLND checkIn your student account you complete a short language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) check. You'll need enough English to take part and to pass it.
- 6We confirm your enrolmentOnce you've finished the LLND check, we confirm your enrolment by email. If there's a problem with your eligibility, we'll contact you directly before you start.
- 7Start when you're readyWork through the modules and complete the assessments at your own pace. You have 2 months from enrolment to finish.
