It follows the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, and it is built for complex situations at work and in the community. It is for workers who may have to use that equipment: people in health and aged care, lifeguards and aquatic staff, crews on remote and industrial sites, and emergency responders.

Why do this course?
This is the step up from CPR — you train on the equipment a real response uses, defibrillators, oxygen and bag-valve masks, so you can keep someone going until the ambulance arrives.
- Where it's relevant: aquatic facilities, health and care settings, and remote or industrial sites — the workplaces that keep this equipment on hand.
How you'll train
In person
Before you come in, you complete a short online module — about 1 to 3 hours. You attend a classroom session with a trainer and practise on the real equipment — an AED, oxygen equipment and a bag-valve mask.
