How do you get a White Card in South Australia?
The South Australian White Card runs live online over Zoom in one day, and Edway Training (RTO 91401) — not SafeWork SA — issues your card.

The short answer
In South Australia the White Card course runs live online over Zoom. It takes about 6.5 hours including breaks — one day.
Edway Training (RTO 91401) delivers the training and issues both your training record and your card. SafeWork SA administers the scheme in South Australia but does not issue cards.
Who issues your card
Edway Training (RTO 91401) issues your South Australian White Card, and your Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
SafeWork SA administers construction induction in South Australia. It does not issue the card. So when you have a question about your card, it goes to the training organisation that trained you, not to the regulator.
How the training runs
The class is delivered live over Zoom by a qualified trainer, in real time. It runs about 6.5 hours including breaks — one day.
You join from a computer or tablet with a webcam, a microphone and a stable internet connection. Your camera stays on: your trainer checks your identity on camera, and you complete your assessment during the session.
Edway does not run a classroom course or a self-paced online course in South Australia. Live online is the only South Australian option.
What you need to enrol
You need a valid photo ID and your Unique Student Identifier (USI). Have the ID ready for the on-camera identity check at the start of the class. You also need enough English to take part.
After you book, you complete a short language, literacy, numeracy and digital check in your student account. There are no prerequisites — you do not need any earlier training.
Upload your photo before the class
Your photo is printed on your card, so the card cannot be printed until you upload one. You upload it in your Edway student account.
Do it before your course. Uploading afterwards holds your card up.
What you receive
You receive a Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001 — your nationally recognised training record — and a South Australian White Card.
The card cost is included in the course price, so there is no separate card fee. Your card is printed after your course and posted to you.
How long it stays valid
Your card has no fixed expiry date. It stays valid while you have worked in construction within the last 2 years.
It is also recognised across Australia, so you can work interstate with it. Worksites can still run their own site induction, which is separate from your card.
