Online Owner Builder Course
QLD Owner Builder Course is the mandatory course that all individuals must complete prior to being eligible to apply for a Queensland Owner Builder Permit.
Our nationally accredited owner builder course meets all the educational requirements set out by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC).
Owner Builder QLD Course
Our online owner builder course meets all the educational requirements set out by the QBCC and includes the following unit of competency:
10274NAT Course in preparation for Owner Builder Permit.
An Owner Builder is a homeowner who holds a permit and performs the traditional role of a licensed builder, managing construction work that is being carried out on their own residential premises.
As part of the project, an Owner Builder orders materials, engages contractors directly, and manages the whole project in the same way a licensed builder normally would.

Course Information
Owner-Builder Permit & White Card Requirements
If you are planning home renovation or building work in Queensland, you may need an Owner-Builder Permit depending on the value of the work:
Work valued over $11,000 (including GST) → You must obtain an Owner-Builder Permit from the QBCC.
Additionally, if your work requires an Owner-Builder Permit, you must hold a current White Card (General Construction Induction Training).
If You Already Have a White Card:
Issued less than 2 years ago? → No need to redo the White Card Course.
Issued more than 2 years ago and you haven’t been working in construction? → You must complete the White Card Course again before enrolling.
If you do not currently hold a White Card, you will need to complete our White Card Course before enrolling in the Owner Builder Course.
Important: 6-Month Expiry for the Online Course
Once you receive your confirmation email, you will have six months to complete the online course. If you do not finish it within this timeframe:
Your enrolment will expire.
You will need to pay the full course fee again.
You must restart the course from the beginning.
No refunds will be issued for non-completion.
Course details

Units of Competency
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Statement of Completion with the following unit of competency:
10274NAT Course in preparation for Owner Builder Permit.

Applying for Owner Builder Permit
After completing the course, participants need to apply for an Owner-Builder Permit through the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC).This can be done online or in person.
You will need to:
Provide evidence that you meet the Owner-Builder education requirement (Statement of Attainment).
Present a copy of your White Card.
Provide proof of ownership of the property (such as a title search no older than 30 days).

Eligibility to get Owner Builder Permit
To receive an Owner-Builder Permit in QLD, you must:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be the registered owner (or hold a prescribed interest) in the land where the construction work will be carried out.
Intend to live in the completed home.
Ensure that building work has not yet started.
Confirm that the work is for residential purposes only (not for resale or investment).
Course requirements

White Card
In addition to the Owner Builder Course, the course participants must hold a General Construction Induction card (also known as White Card).
If you do not currently hold a White Card, you will need to complete our White Card Course.
If you already hold a White Card that has been issued:
less than 2 years ago, you will be able to commence our Owner Builder Course without having to complete the White Card Course again;
more than 2 years ago, and you have not been working in the construction industry, you will need to register and complete the White Card Course.
Payment
To secure your course booking, payment is required at the time of registration. You can conveniently pay online using a credit card, Afterpay, or request an invoice.
