Mental Health First Aid Course Melbourne

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses teach people simple, practical first aid skills for helping a family member, friend, co-worker or other person who is experiencing mental health problems.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis.

Mental Health First Aid Course Melbourne

  • MHFA course is designed and promoted by MHFA Australia – a national not-for-profit health promotion charity.

  • Mental health problems can affect anyone in the community and inaccurate and stigmatising attitudes towards people with mental illness are common.

  • Many people lack the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support a friend, family member or co-worker experiencing a mental health problem, including how to approach someone and start a safe conversation.

  • With everyday stress situations more and more workplaces require a person who can detect a person’s mental problems at the beginning stage and who can help.

  • Encouraging early help-seeking is one way to promote a mentally healthy workplace.
