What will you learn

Friable Asbestos Removal training covers asbestos removal related topics, such as:

• Prepare for asbestos removal

• Prepare friable asbestos removal area and removal site

• Establish and maintain asbestos removal enclosures

• Operate negative pressure units and decontamination facilities

• Carry out friable asbestos removal processes

• Carry out decontamination procedures

• Clean up asbestos removal work sites

• Package, transport and dispose of asbestos waste

• Complete regulatory and compliance documentation

Prerequisites

1) Participants must hold the following unit of competency:

CPCCOHS1001A, CPCCWHS1001, or CPCWHS1001.

Participants must be able to produce evidence of completion of these units in the form of a Statement of Attainment from a registered RTO or a copy of a USI transcript showing the relevent unit.

2) Participants MUST hold a current Statement of Attainment for CPCCDE3028,CPCCDE3014 or CPCCDE3014A Remove Non-Friable Asbestos (Class B Asbestos Removal).

A copy of the Statement of Attainment must be provided prior to, or on the day of, training.

Class A (Friable Asbestos Removal) training is intended for persons who have already completed the nationally recognised Class B asbestos removal qualification and have experience in asbestos removal work.

ENTRY TO CLASS WILL BE REFUSED

if participants do not provide evidence of successful completion of CPCCDE3028 Remove Non-Friable Asbestos (or an equivalent superseded qualification recognised by the RTO including CPCCDE3014 or CPCCDE3014A Remove Non-Friable Asbestos ).

USI (Unique Student Identifier)

From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED

if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.

USI can be obtained via www.usi.gov.au

Identification

Participants must provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card).Please note only an international passport is accepted as a non-Australian document.

IMPORTANT: Student ID (eg university or college) are NOT accepted as a valid form of ID.

Attendance

Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.

LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital)

It is a requirement that all students must have basic English reading, writing, and understanding skills. Interpreters are not allowed for most courses.

From 1/7/25, all students must complete a basic LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital) test before enrolment. This ensures you can understand the course content and get the right support during training.

All students enrolling in an Edway Training course are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) skills assessment as part of their student profile. This ensures they have the necessary skills to perform basic calculations, and to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, enabling them to successfully participate in the training and assessment process.
