Barista Course Information
This blended course begins with online pre-course learning, followed by an intensive 6-hour hands-on training session focused on mastering espresso machines.
Participants will learn all aspects of coffee preparation, including operating espresso machines and grinders, texturing milk, setting up a coffee workstation, and crafting high-quality espresso drinks.
Please note that SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety is a prerequisite for enrolling in SITHFAB025 – Prepare and serve espresso coffee which you will complete in this course.
The course also covers customer guidance on coffee beverages, making it ideal for hospitality staff in cafés, restaurants, bars, and event venues.CG Course Information

What will you receive
Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive:
Statement of Attainment issued by Edway Training with units of competency: SITHFAB025 and SITXFSA005

What you will learn
Barista training provides you with the following key learning outcomes:
Efficient workflow and preparation of coffee service station
Selection and grinding of coffee beans for optimal extraction
Customer service and order taking with recommendations on coffee selections
Quality control and monitoring of espresso extraction
Milk texturing techniques for various coffee beverages
Attractive presentation and prompt service of coffee
Comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of espresso equipment
Barista training course consists of PowerPoint presentation, classroom and practical activities, videos and end of the day assessment
Course requirements

Attendance
Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED
if participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.

LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital)
It is a requirement that all students must have basic English reading, writing, and understanding skills. Interpreters are not allowed for most courses.
From 1/7/25, all students must complete a basic LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital) test before enrolment. This ensures you can understand the course content and get the right support during training.
All students enrolling in an Edway Training course are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) skills assessment as part of their student profile. This ensures they have the necessary skills to perform basic calculations, and to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, enabling them to successfully participate in the training and assessment process.

Identification
Participants must provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card).Please note only an international passport is accepted as a non-Australian document.
IMPORTANT: Student ID (eg university or college) are NOT accepted as a valid form of ID.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED
if participants do not provide a valid form of I.D

USI (Unique Student Identifier)
From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CAN NOT BE ISSUED
if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.USI can be obtained via www.usi.gov.au
