Course Information


  • Our Advanced First Aid HLTAID014 qualification is valid for 3 years.

  • The course covers Spinal Management, Defibrillation, Management of Anaphylactic Shock, WH&S Guidelines, Safe Manual Handling and Legislation amongst other topics.

  • HLTAID014 component supersedes the older HLTAID006.

  • It is a full day course that includes Provide First Aid and Provide CPR qualifications.

  • Advanced Resuscitation HLTAID015 is no longer running in combo with Advanced First Aid. If you are interested in doing this course as well, please check our page for Advanced Resuscitation HLTAID015.

What will you receive


Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:

Nationally accredited certification for:

  • Statement of Attainment with HLTAID009, HLTAID010, HLTAID011 and HLTAID014 units of competency


What you will learn


Advanced First Aid Training covers topics such as management of other first aiders and emergency situations, higher levels of first aid and CPR practices, appropriate first responder processes, monitoring vital signs until professional emergency services arrive, liaising and coordinating with professional emergency personnel, legal and procedural processes, cleaning and maintaining emergency CPR equipment

More complex procedures covered in this course include use and maintenance of advanced CPR apparatus.

Advanced First Aid training includes the use of the equipment such as backboards and stretchers, defibrillators, trauma dressings, oxygen tanks, bag valve CPR masks, Epi-Pens and asthma puffers, roller and triangular bandages.

Advanced First Aid training course consists of the PowerPoint presentation, practical and role play demonstrations, and an end-of-the-day assessment.

Nationally accepted


Statement of Attainment is nationally recognised all across Australia.

Attendance


Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.

ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED

if participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.

LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy)


It is a requirement that all students must have basic English reading, writing, and understanding skills. Interpreters are not allowed for most courses.

From 1/7/25, all students must complete a basic LLN (Language, Literacy, and Numeracy) test before enrolment. This ensures you can understand the course content and get the right support during training.

All students enrolling in an Edway Training course are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) skills assessment as part of their student profile. This ensures they have the necessary skills to perform basic calculations, and to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, enabling them to successfully participate in the training and assessment process.

USI (Unique Student Identifier)


From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED

if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.

USI can be obtained via www.usi.gov.au


Identification


Participants must provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card, student card).

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED

if participants do not provide a valid form of I.D.

Online Pre-Study Module


Participants must complete the online pre-study module. It covers the theoretical part of Provide Advanced First Aid training.

The link to the online pre-study will be provided in an activation account email after booking in the course.

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED 

if a participant does not complete the online pre-study module.
