Supervise Asbestos Removal Course Information
A team of tradespeople cannot legally undertake large-scale (10sqm+) asbestos removal work without the presence of a qualified Asbestos Safety Supervisor on site.
Asbestos supervisor is required when:
Friable asbestos (Class A) removal work is carried out, licensed removalists must ensure the supervisor is on site for the entire time during the removal
Non-friable asbestos (Class B) removal work, licensed removalists must ensure the site supervisor is on site or accessible for the entire time during the removal
To get a replacement for a lost or stolen Edway VIC issued Asbestos Supervisor card, please contact Edway Training on melbourne@edway.com.au.

What will you receive
Upon successful completion of the course, on the day of training, participants will receive:
Statement of Attainment and plastic card issued by Edway Training

What will you learn
Supervise Asbestos Removal training covers topics such as plan supervision of asbestos removal, oversee the preparation for asbestos removal, supervise compliant testing and supervise removal and decontamination processes.
Supervise Asbestos Removal training course consists of PowerPoint Presentation, Class Activities, and Videos.

Nationally recognized
Statement of Attainment is nationally recognized.
However, additional training might be required in different states. Please refer to the local authority for more information.
Course requirements

Prior Competencies
Participants must hold the following units of competency prior to undertaking this training:
CPCWHS1001 Work Safely in the Construction Industry
CPCCDE3014 Remove non-friable asbestos and/or
CPCCDE3015 Remove friable asbestos.
Statement of the Attainment must be presented on the day of training as a proof of qualification.
Please note that the old colored cards (Victorian red card, NSW green card etc) issued prior to May 2009 are not accepted.
Statement of Attainment for Non Friable Asbestos Removal (Class B) training OR Friable Asbestos Removal (Class A) training AND Work Safely in the Construction Industry training MUST be presented on the day of training.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED

USI (Unique Student Identifier)
From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED
if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.
USI can be obtained via www.usi.gov.au

Identification
Participants must provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card).Please note only an international passport is accepted as a non-Australian document.IMPORTANT: Student ID (eg university or college) are NOT accepted as a valid form of ID.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED
if participants do not provide a valid form of I.D

Attendance
Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED
if participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.

LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital)
It is a requirement that all students must have basic English reading, writing, and understanding skills. Interpreters are not allowed for most courses.
From 1/7/25, all students must complete a basic LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital) test before enrolment. This ensures you can understand the course content and get the right support during training.
All students enrolling in an Edway Training course are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) skills assessment as part of their student profile. This ensures they have the necessary skills to perform basic calculations, and to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, enabling them to successfully participate in the training and assessment process.
