Silica Awareness TAS Online

Our Silica Awareness Training Online TAS course is designed for workers, supervisors, and managers across Tasmania who may be exposed to respirable crystalline silica dust during their work. The course helps participants understand silica hazards, health risks, and practical control measures for safer workplaces.

The goal of this course is to provide participants with knowledge and awareness of potential sources of exposure and the hazards and health effects of exposure to Silica.

Our Silica Training TAS program is relevant for construction workers, stonemasons, demolition contractors, excavation professionals, and anyone working in environments where silica dust exposure may occur.

Silica Awareness Course

Silica Awareness is a non-accredited course that is delivered and certificates of completion are issued by Edway Training Pty Ltd.

Check with your employer if this course is right for you if required for employment purposes before commencing the course.

This course is approved by WorkSafe Tasmania to meet the state’s silica awareness training standards.

This Silica Awareness Training TAS course has been developed to support Tasmania's workplace safety requirements and provide workers with the knowledge needed to recognise and minimise silica-related risks.

Silica Awareness Course Information

This Silica Awareness Course TAS is suitable for workers, supervisors, employers, and contractors who require a better understanding of respirable crystalline silica hazards and safe work practices.

The Silica Awareness Online Course is designed for workers that work with silica such as stone masons, demolishers, and excavation professionals including plant operators, supervisors and managers.

As this course is online only and practical competencies cannot be assessed via this method, participants will not receive an ASQA-accredited certificate. Our Online Silica Training TAS provides flexible, self-paced learning, allowing participants to complete the course from anywhere in Tasmania while building a strong understanding of silica hazards, workplace responsibilities, and current safety requirements.

What will you receive

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:

• Certificate of Completion

• Participants who complete this Silica Awareness Course Online TAS will receive a Certificate of Completion demonstrating they have completed non-accredited silica awareness training.

Course requirements

Online Module

Students will be required to complete online assessments after referring to the various guides provided in the online portal.

The link to the online portal will be provided in the confirmation email after completing the course booking.
