Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) – SITHFAB021
The RSA course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to a safe and enjoyable environment in licensed premises where alcohol is served and sold. It is required for all licensees and managers, crowd controllers, RSA marshals, volunteers as well as service, security and promotional staff who are selling, offering or serving liquor in establishments with general, on-premises, late night and packaged liquor licences.

If you are travelling between states SA, WA, NT, ACT, QLD or TAS our Travel Australia plastic card will allow you to work in the hospitality industry involving the sale and service of alcohol.

RSA and Customer Service Course Information
RSA course should be undertaken only if you have never done this course before or your competency card expired more than 28 days ago. If you have a valid RSA competency card or it has expired recently, you need to do a L&GNSW online refresher course.
If you did RSA course but didn’t order a competency card and your RSA interim certificate is expired, you do not need to do a course again. You cannot work in the industry after an expiration date but you still can go to Service NSW and order your card.
If you don’t remember when your competency card expires, you can check it on L&GNSW portal in the section “Manage RSA/RCG Competency Card“.
If you have recently moved to NSW and hold a competency card issued in another state, please see Online NSW RSA Bridging course.
An RSA Interim certificate is valid for 90 days after which you must use an RSA competency card to work in the liquor industry.
Students should apply for an RSA competency card by themselves in the Service NSW centre after completing a course successfully and receiving an interim certificate. Note: no extra cost applies for ordering the competency card.
Travel Australia Plastic Card which allows working in the hospitality industry involving the sale and service of alcohol in SA, WA, NT, ACT, TAS, QLD.
RSA competency card is valid for 5 years after that a refreshment is required.
This course supersedes and is equivalent to the SITHFAB002 qualification.
Customer Service Training is ideal for anyone seeking to work in roles that involve direct interaction with customers across hospitality, retail, healthcare, business or other service-based industries.
The Customer Service Course should be undertaken if you have never completed nationally recognised customer service training before or wish to strengthen your communication and service delivery skills. This training covers SITXCCS014 – Provide Service to Customers.
On successful completion of your course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for SITXCCS014 – Provide Service to Customers issued by Edway Training Pty Ltd (RTO No 91401).
The course is delivered fully online and begins with interactive learning modules designed to build practical workplace skills. Throughout the training you will learn how to communicate effectively with customers, identify and respond to customer needs, manage complaints professionally, resolve conflict situations, and apply workplace policies and procedures to deliver consistent service.
A short final assessment must be successfully completed to demonstrate your understanding of customer service principles and workplace expectations.
Your Statement of Attainment is issued once all requirements are met and your USI is verified.
Customer service qualifications are nationally recognised and do not expire, however employers may require evidence of recent training depending on workplace policies or industry standards.
This course provides the essential skills required to deliver professional, confident and customer-focused service in any workplace environment.

LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital)
It is a requirement that all students must have basic English reading, writing, and understanding skills. Interpreters are not allowed for most courses.
From 1/7/25, all students must complete a basic LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital) test before enrolment. This ensures you can understand the course content and get the right support during training.
All students enrolling in an Edway Training course are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) skills assessment as part of their student profile. This ensures they have the necessary skills to perform basic calculations, and to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, enabling them to successfully participate in the training and assessment process.
