Mental Health First Aid offers practical training designed to equip community members with the skills to support those facing mental health challenges until professional assistance is available.


Participants will learn to recognize signs, offer timely intervention, and manage mental health crises effectively. This flexible format allows you to engage with the material at your own pace before attending a face-to-face classroom session with a licensed instructor.


The program includes the Standard Mental Health First Aid course featuring materials tailored for Community settings.

What you will learn


Mental Health First Aid in the Community training course covers common and disabling mental health problems and crisis situations.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Recognise signs and symptoms of mental health problems in adults.

  • Use an action plan to initiate mental health first aid conversations.

  • Understand barriers to help-seeking and methods to overcome them.

  • Assess and provide initial support in various crisis situations.

  • Gain knowledge about the prevalence, impact, risk factors, and treatments for mental illnesses.

  • Learn and apply self-care practices as a Mental Health First Aider.


What will you receive


Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:

  • Access to the MHFA assessment

  • Completion of the short assessment at the end of a course leads to accreditation as a Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider).




Course requirements



Attendance


Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.

ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED

if participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.

18+


According to the MHFA Australia requirements any adult (aged 18+) can attend.

Identification


Participants must provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card, student card).

Standard $275.00
