The training course for Friable Asbestos Removal is intended for those who handle, manage or remove friable asbestos containing material (ACM).
Please be advised that holding current qualifications in CPCCDE3014 “Remove non friable asbestos” and CPCWHS1001 “Prepare to work safely in the construction industry” is a mandatory requirement for enrollment in this course.
Participants will need to successfully complete the Non Friable Asbestos Removal and White Card courses prior to attending the Friable Asbestos Removal training.

SafeWork NSW only recognises CPCCDE3015 Remove friable asbestos statements of attainment issued by the approved training providers.
Edway Training is accredited by the Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) to deliver this training course.



Asbestos Removal Course Information
In NSW, employers are required to have a Class A Asbestos Removal License to work with Friable Asbestos. Completion of this course is a mandatory training requirement.
All workers and supervisors must complete a CPCCDE3015 Remove Friable Asbestos training course to be allowed to perform Friable Asbestos removal tasks.
This training course allows working with Friable and Non Friable asbestos containing material (ACM).
This course supersedes and is equivalent to CPCCDE3015A Remove friable asbestos. SafeWork NSW recognises Statements of Attainment issued under a new unit of competency.

Friable Asbestos Removal training covers asbestos removal related topics, such as Prepare for asbestos removal, Prepare asbestos removal area and removal site, Enclose removal site, Carry out asbestos removal process, Carry out decontamination process, Clean up work site and Complete regulatory processes.
Friable Asbestos Removal (Class A) training course consists of PowerPoint Presentation, Practical and Theory Assessments, Videos, Class Activities, Class Discussions.
Course requirements

Current White Card
Participants MUST HOLD CPCWHS1001 "Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry" qualification issued after May 2009.
Statement of the Attainment or the plastic Construction Induction card (also known as the white card) must be presented on the training day as proof of qualification.
Please note that the old coloured cards (Victorian red card, NSW green card etc) issued prior to May 2009 are not accepted.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED
if participant does not present current white card.

USI (Unique Student Identifier)
From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED
if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.
USI can be obtained via www.usi.gov.au

100 points of ID
Participants MUST PROVIDE 100 points of I.D. Please note that not all forms of I.D. are acceptable for a Friable Asbestos Removal course Check a list of accepted documents
STUDENTS WILL BE REFUSED ENTRY
if participants do not provide 100 points of accepted forms of I.D.

Attendance
Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED
if participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.

LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital)
It is a requirement that all students must have basic English reading, writing, and understanding skills. Interpreters are not allowed for most courses.
From 1/7/25, all students must complete a basic LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital) test before enrolment. This ensures you can understand the course content and get the right support during training.
All students enrolling in an Edway Training course are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) skills assessment as part of their student profile. This ensures they have the necessary skills to perform basic calculations, and to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, enabling them to successfully participate in the training and assessment process.
