The course delivers the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
Units of competency HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support are included in the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid training course.
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certification is valid for 3 years.
This course supersedes HLTAID003 Provide First Aid.
Course details

What will you receive
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:
Statement of Attainment with units of competency: HLTAID009, HLTAID010 and HLTAID011

What you will learn
First Aid training covers topics such as Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), fractures and dislocations, burns and scalds, head, chest and spinal injuries, fainting and unconsciousness, bandaging techniques, severed limbs, poisoning, bites, stings.
First Aid training course consists of PowerPoint presentation, practical activities and end of the day assessment.

Nationally accepted
Provide First Aid HLTAID011 statement of attainment is nationally recognised.
Course requirements

Attendance
Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.
ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED
if participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.

LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital)
It is a requirement that all students must have basic English reading, writing, and understanding skills. Interpreters are not allowed for most courses.
From 1/7/25, all students must complete a basic LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital) test before enrolment. This ensures you can understand the course content and get the right support during training.
All students enrolling in an Edway Training course are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) skills assessment as part of their student profile. This ensures they have the necessary skills to perform basic calculations, and to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, enabling them to successfully participate in the training and assessment process.

USI (Unique Student Identifier)
From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED
if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.
USI can be obtained via www.usi.gov.au

Identification
Participants must provide one form of photo I.D. (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card, student card).
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED
if participants do not provide a valid form of I.D.

Online Pre-Study Module
Participants must complete the online pre-study module. It covers the theoretical part of Provide Advanced First Aid training.
The link to the online pre-study will be provided in an activation account email after booking in the course.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED
if a participant does not complete the online pre-study module.
