There is a specific requirement that all assessors must hold “CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirement, policies and procedures in the construction industry” (or its successor) to be able to deliver and assess unit of competency “CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry”
Note: CPCCWHS2001 is not a General Construction Induction course (White Card).

Course Information
This unit of competency covers fundamental work health and safety topics necessary to undertake work tasks within any sector in the construction industry. It includes the identification of hazardous materials, including asbestos, and compliance with legislated work safety practices (It does not cover the removal of asbestos, which is a licensed activity).
Please note that after completion of this course you will not receive a General Construction Induction card (white card).
White Card Information
To receive a white card, a person needs to complete a “CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry” training course.Edway Training offers white card training courses in different states via different delivery methods:

Apply WHS Requirements in the Construction Industry training covers following topics:
Identify and assess risks
Identify hazardous materials and other hazards on work sites
Plan and prepare for safe work practices
Apply safe work practices

Follow emergency procedures
Course requirements

Online Module
Students will be required to complete online assessments after referring to the various guides provided in the online portal.
The link to the online portal will be provided in the confirmation email after completing the course booking.
Note: You are required to complete the course within two months of your enrolment date. Failure to do so will result in your course being cancelled.

LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital)
It is a requirement that all students must have basic English reading, writing, and understanding skills. Interpreters are not allowed for most courses.
From 1/7/25, all students must complete a basic LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital) test before enrolment. This ensures you can understand the course content and get the right support during training.
All students enrolling in an Edway Training course are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) skills assessment as part of their student profile. This ensures they have the necessary skills to perform basic calculations, and to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, enabling them to successfully participate in the training and assessment process.

USI (Unique Student Identifier)
From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED
if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.
USI can be obtained via www.usi.gov.au
