White Card & Green Card Sydney Training
As a basic prerequisite to occupational health and safety procedures, these cards are awarded once a short course is completed by a registered training company. This training is commonly known as induction course training. Each card will certify you to work in a specific area in Australia, but they all license you the same way.
Why Do I Need Induction Training?
Whether you get a white or a green card Sydney, you'll need that card to be allowed to work on construction sites. These cards were created by WorkCover, a government agency dedicated to occupational health and safety procedures. These procedures were put in place to help educate workers about safety protocol as they work onsite, and to assist them in minimizing work related accidents. Your White or Green card Sydney will prepare you for any eventuality that may arise from construction work.
What Do The Cards Do For Me?
A white card Sydney is precautionary training against the risks involved with working in construction. Every year in Australia there are serious injuries, and even fatalities in the construction field. This is because there are a number of hazardous materials that construction workers use on a daily basis, in an unstable environment. Your green card Sydney qualification will make you more aware of every day risks, like falling from great heights, plummeting tools or material from high up, electrocution and hearing impairment from equipment noise.
Choosing The Edway Training Program
The Edway Group continues to deliver some of Australia's most useful White or Green card Sydney courses. Because you are required to meet personally with your instructor, and participate in group discussions on the construction industry - Edway makes this process as simple as booking online and arranging a date. Construction workers looking to attain their white card Sydney, attend an engaging 6 and a half hour course, where they are taken through every aspect of health and safety in the industry.
Learning About Construction Safety
Your White or Green card Sydney induction training begins with a review of OHS legislation, and you learn the correct procedures for working on site as mapped out by the government agency, WorkCover. Part of the course involves teaching you how to properly communicate with your team members, and how you can all create a safer working environment if you work together. Getting your green card Sydney also involves learning the basics of first aid, and how the law protects you if you are injured onsite.
Personal injury happens to most construction workers at some point in their careers, and you need to know what leave you are entitled to when this happens, and what compensation you get out of it. With your green card Sydney you'll be more secure in your job knowing what legal steps can be taken, if the worst ever happens. Workers compensation is an interesting part of the course that you'll want to explore with the group.
When you have received the proper training from Edway, you'll get your White or Green card Sydney, depending on where you are. This acts as your nationally recognized certification in OHS procedures for the construction industry. With Edway's interactive, hands on training you'll be more aware of the dangers around you, and as a result more prepared to avoid, react or prevent injuries that happen. Get your White or Green card Sydney today by booking your training class with Edway.
